The Sun is Back Again today!

Today I get unplugged, and I will be done with round one, and only have 3 more to go....these will happen in 2 week increments, except for the last one, as I will be enjoying Florida for a week, and so my last session won't be till I return in April. The cold sensibility seems to already be lessening this morning. I plan on doing a shower this a.m., by hanging my pump on a hanger on the other side of the shower curtain. A good trick if I can manage it. While I'm at the HHH Cancer Center getting unplugged, I get to drop in on Imelda Neis, (her husband Joe worked with Dad and Gene at Midwest and the Star) who is going thru chemo for breast cancer. So that's my day...I'll be watching more Olympics....and maybe get some ashes this evening. Fat Tuesday didn't seem to add any weight to my body....it must be just a name. But I continue to stuff myself in hopes of gaining a pound or two. Love, thoughts and prayers, m
P.S. Loretta is back in the hospital...so again keep her in your thoughts, and Frank is still struggling to recover in ICU....has a trache and a feeding tube now....but seems to be holding his own.

  1. m, I'm really glad that is over for you, and good luck on the shower. I assume Janet is there to help - she's pretty handy. Now you can concentrate on the olympics and let the chemo do it's job, love, Jeanie

  2. Hi, just an update....I had a visitor before leaving to get unplugged, and was given the most beautiful pop-up book by Tomie dePaola called "Brava Strega Nona"....so beautiful you must come and see. She arrived just as I stepped out of the shower, doing my hair and getting dressed in real clothes and thought I was finally normal (if I can ever be that) After she left, it was time to rush off to get unplugged, and I decided to run to the bathroom first, and low and behold, my ostomy pouch had become unsealed, and needless to say I had to change clothes, put on a new pouch and regain some more normalness. But got to the HHH Cancer Center only 2 minutes late, and was able to get unhooked and also visit for a few minutes with Joe and Imelda Neis. So glad I had that chance to see them, they both looked good....though Imelda has a whole year of weekly chemo treatments to look forward to.
After leaving there, Janet and I stopped at Cub and got some good fresh fruit and veggies and some other grocery needs. So now home for a while, and then off to get some ashes this evening before watching the Olympics for the nite. Love and prayers, m

  3. Sorry Carol, I got all done writing the update, and didn't say thank you for the book. Thanks to Carol Fuller for this wonderful gift, can't wait to share it with the grandkids too!
