Day 1 of my First Round of Chemo,

...for the new year.  Karen was my buddy and I taught her how to play cribbage, and after a few practice open hands, I beat her the first game and she beat me the second game by pegging out....getting a four card run.  It's all in the cards!  Or beginner's luck!
We had a good day, and she was able to find some chicken wild rice soup for us for lunch and pick me up an oatmeal raisin cookie from Woullet's and herself a cupcake with some caramel drizzled over the top with some chocolate and maybe some slivered almonds....it looked good, but I would never have been able to finish that, I barely finished my cookie...actually I didn't.
When we got home both Karen and I napped, and then at 4:10, Annie brought the kids back, and she and Tom took Em, Kennedy and Will to the tournament in Edina that the CRHS girls varsity team was playing in.  We got to watch it at home on cable.  It was a pretty good game even though we lost 4-2 against Stillwater HS.
After the game Tom and Annie picked up pizza and brought it home for us for dinner, and then when the girls got home, they came and ate too.  They had to be home by a 10 p.m. curfew the coach has for all the girls, so they actually left about 9 or a little after.
When they left the rest of us watched "The Bad Curve", one of the gifts I got for Christmas, and my boys had all seen and cried through it, and wanted me to see it too, to make sure I'd cry too  I did.  I'm sure all the cousin's would too.  If you've seen it you know why.
Now it's time for me to go to bed...it was an early morning....about 6:37 when I got up. So I'm off to bed.  Love and Prayers, m
